About the Journal

Meuseuraya: Journal of Community Engagement is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes articles based on community service and engagement activities across a broad spectrum of disciplines. The journal serves as a scholarly platform for academics, practitioners, researchers, and social activists to share their contributions to society through applied, participatory, and solution-oriented approaches.

The name Meuseuraya, derived from the Acehnese language, embodies a deep cultural philosophy of mutual cooperation, collective responsibility, and communal solidarity. It reflects the spirit of working together for the common good — a value that resonates with the journal’s mission to foster inclusive and sustainable development through community engagement.

The journal particularly encourages submissions that focus on community empowerment, local potential development, civic education, quality of life improvement, appropriate technology innovation, and other impactful practices of community service. While Meuseuraya welcomes contributions from all regions, it places special emphasis on works that explore issues, challenges, and innovations in community engagement within Aceh, Indonesia, and the broader Southeast Asian context.

Published biannually, Meuseuraya is committed to promoting community-based knowledge, strengthening the link between academia and society, and contributing to transformative social change at local, national, and regional levels.
