Publication Ethics

This is the statement of publication ethics for SIKULA: Journal of Learning and Teaching Model Innovations. This statement is adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and outlines the ethical standards expected from all parties involved in the publication process, including editors, reviewers, and authors.

Articles published in SIKULA are essential contributions to the development of a coherent and respected body of knowledge in the field of education. They reflect the quality and integrity of the authors and their institutions. Therefore, it is essential to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct in all aspects of the publication process.

The editorial team of SIKULA is committed to ensuring a transparent, fair, and objective editorial process. Editors and reviewers evaluate all manuscripts based solely on academic merit, without regard to authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.


Duties of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere.

  • Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals is unethical and unacceptable.

  • Authors are responsible for properly citing all sources and avoiding all forms of plagiarism and academic misconduct.

  • Authors must acknowledge significant contributions from others appropriately.

  • If the authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly inform the editor to correct or retract the article.

  • All listed authors should have made significant contributions to the research and agree to the manuscript’s content.


Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not disclose any information about the manuscript during or after the review process.

  • Reviews should be conducted objectively and supported with constructive feedback.

  • Reviewers should declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review if there is a conflict.

  • Reviewers are expected to identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

  • Reviewers should report any suspected ethical misconduct, such as plagiarism or data fabrication, to the editor.


Duties of Editorial Board Members

  • Provide input and guidance for maintaining and improving the quality of the journal.

  • Actively promote the journal and encourage submissions from their professional networks.

  • Support the peer review process by reviewing manuscripts or recommending suitable reviewers.

  • Uphold editorial integrity and ensure adherence to ethical publishing practices.


Duties of the Editor-in-Chief

  • Make publication decisions based solely on the manuscript’s academic merit and its relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • Ensure a fair and unbiased peer review process.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and related communication.

  • Guide authors and reviewers with clear editorial policies and procedures.

  • Take appropriate action when ethical concerns or misconduct are raised about a submitted or published paper.
