Article Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to JROH: Jurnal Obat Hati undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the published work. The journal applies a double-blind review system, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process.

Review Stages

  1. Initial Screening

    • Each submission is first assessed by the Editorial Office to verify compliance with the journal’s aims and scope, formatting requirements, and ethical standards.

    • Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors without external review.

  2. Peer Review

    • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

    • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, significance of findings, and adherence to ethical research standards.

    • Additional reviewers may be invited when necessary.

  3. Review Outcomes
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief (or an assigned Section Editor) makes one of the following decisions:

    • Accept without revision

    • Accept with minor revisions

    • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

    • Reject

  4. Revision and Resubmission

    • Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and provide a detailed response letter.

    • Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed.

  5. Final Decision

    • The final decision on acceptance or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief, who considers both reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript.

  6. Publication

    • Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, and typesetting before online publication.

    • The average review and decision process typically takes 6–10 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.

Ethical Considerations

JROH follows the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to ensure integrity, fairness, and transparency throughout the peer review process.
